The naval museum in Simon's Town host a small exhibit of South Africa's annexation of Marion Island. There are also displays of the other naval vessels used by South Africa in the Antarctic Region. Important to mention is the archives that are hosted at the museum. A lot of material has been digitised such as images and documents, but they are not available online and to investigate a visit to the museum is worthwhile. There is probably not that much documentation related to the humanities and social sciences but information who were on the vessels at least. The museum is open to the public , but it is necessary to arrange to visit the archives as most of this is done by volunteers and to ensure they are available t assist during the visit |
